Customs Formalities
For French citizens, an identity card is all you need.
For citizens of EU countries, you need your passport (no visa required) and a return ticket.
For citizens of non-EU countries, the requirements are the same as those for entry into metropolitan France.

Time Zone Differences
France: -5 hours in summer / -4 hours in winter
French-speaking Canada: -1 hour in summer / -2 hours in winter
Guadeloupe and Martinique: -1 hour
Currency
The euro is used throughout French Guiana. French and international credit cards and checks from French banks are also accepted in Guiana.
Language
Everyone speaks French on the coastal strip, and English is understood.

Water: the tap water is drinkable throughout the coastal strip
Store hours:
in general, stores are open Monday to Saturday, 8 AM – 1 PM and 4 PM – 7 PM. Food stores and supermarkets stay open late (8:30 PM) and are open Sundays, 9 AM – 12:30 PM.
Holidays: the same as metropolitan France, plus holidays specific to French Guiana: Ash Wednesday in February or March, and June 10 (abolition of slavery).
